Kyrtie Warm Up Sketches/reference

Hey, it's Kyrtie! You don't know it, but she's the reason we're all glad this comic is greyscale.

Kyrtie's actually about 27. This still puts her in semi-minor territory; she won't be able to vote or even take a job that would qualify her to vote for another couple of years. Which means she doesn't have any real pressure to pick a mature look. Her family status means she's high enough to have a closet (and storage space is a serious luxury on a station) and that closet is a technicolor havoc.

Kyrtie is unusually athletic for her society; she veers between feeling proud about that and feeling awkward about it, so her clothes are divided between skin tight/revealing and panicky coverups. To the extent she's got any real consistency in her outfits, they exaggerate or highlight her torso, which is already kind of long, and they're all as colorful as she can make them- which, in a world of programmable light-up fabric, can be pretty eye-burning.

Kyrtie's hair isn't hair at all; it's made of sort of artifical fibers that can be programmed with all sorts of colors and styles. This is a pretty standard cosmetic enhancement, and only a bit more extreme than nail polish. If she usually picks designs that look like a paint shop spilled on her head...that's just her.
